Loren is anxious to share his musical knowledge and expertise with students of all ages and abilities. He believes in the value of a basic fundamental core of technique and instrument knowledge in order to realize the joy and fun of playing and performance. However, his love of great classical music is also apparent and permeates his teaching approach through an emphasis on refinement and sensitivity.

He is also an avid trout fisherman and enjoys the serenity of the wonderful streams of North and South Carolina. His passion for this sport is further fuled by a hobby of fly tying, the products of which he uses to lure the beautiful game fish of the Carolinas. Having been a member of two state championship basketball teams in high school, and a high-school All-American, he naturally is a huge fan of the game. He is also a co-sponsor of the newly formed "Greenville Packer-Backers" club which has been a huge success.
